Abstract

This paper presents the results of a larger study taken from my PhD thesis, referring to children with genetic disorders and congenital malformations. Here I try to emphasize the effectiveness of physical therapy means applied as early as possible in the treatment of congenital malformations. The assessment methods I used were complex, evaluating also the psycho-social components, because the physically disabled children are marginalized by society, this having an impact on the neuro-motor development. This study shows that an individualization of physical therapy intervention can lead to the child's development, from a social, cognitive, motor, and linguistic point of view.
