Abstract

This paper is meant to point out the influence of the training methodology on the somatic and functional sphere of junior I dancers aged 12 to 13. This scientific approach led to an experimental study conducted in the „Two Step” Club of Bucharest. The research activity was carried out from January 2012 to November 2013, by investigating two groups of athletes, an experimental group and a control group. Each group was formed of 12 dancers, aged 12 to 13, corresponding to the classification category Junior I. The research reveals that the somatic pattern of the junior I dancer appears to be the one of a long-shaped person, with long segments, low weight, toned muscles but not overly developed and globular ones, with a low percentage of fat tissue, belonging to the category of normotrophic or underweight persons.
