Abstract

In Romania, the interaction of relief and climate is evident in the distribution of individual settlements in space. Therefore, understand and accept the idea that the student can not be separated from the environment in which he lives. Considered a dynamic game, basketball is a manifestation of the playful nature of exercise. Characterized by a wide range of movement, playing basketball act upon the entire complex of physical qualities (ex: lower power train for defender position). Morphological differences caused by geographical environment can significantly alter sporting performance. It is therefore interesting to study how specific means influences encountered in motor quality of basketball game developed differently in children of the same age, living at different altitudes. To achieve this goal, we started from the assumption that basketball strength develops motor skills (for lower train) to different altitude levels, on 5th grade students. The experiment was conducted in schools that are located at different altitudes in the Western Moldova. Following the tests, was conducted a detailed analysis of the results obtained by students, which can lead to the recognition of children eager to practice a sport discipline (basketball) at a performance level.
