COMPARATIVE OBSERVATIONS REGARDING THE INCIDENCE OF CERTAIN HEREDITARY DISORDERS AND CONGENITAL MALFORMATIONS IN BACAU AND VASLUI COUNTIES, BETWEEN 2006 - 2013
Abstract
This study intended to observe the genetic health of the population, how it evolved in the last few years, and whether the economical development had any influence on this aspect. The data presented in this paper was obtained from the Public Health Directions in the two counties, reflecting the situation recorded between 2006 and 2013. The analysis and interpretation of the statistical data revealed a number of 1894 cases of chromosomal disorders and congenital malformations that were distributed on years and body systems. The identified cases are represented by children with Down syndrome - 172 cases, Turner syndrome - 17 cases, nervous system malformations - 78 cases, cardiovascular system malformations - 866 cases, respiratory system malformations - 71 cases, digestive system - 46 cases, urogenital system - 144 cases, and musculoskeletal system - 395 cases. The numbers show us that the frequency of these disorders is not caused as much by the diet or the pollution in the area, but rather by the level of development, the degree of civilization of the human populations, by the quality of medical assistance, the level of education of the people, the population of Bacau seeming to be, from these points of view, more advantaged than the one of Vaslui.
