STUDY ON THE PROFESSIONAL MOTIVATION OF MASTER STUDENTS STUDYING AT THE FACULTY OF MOVEMENT, HEALTH AND SPORTS SCIENCES
Abstract
Knowing the professional needs and motives which determine the efficiency of the training for a career represents a starting point in the orientation and development of the training process in the intense higher education. For this purpose, we started a comparative study on 40 master students (20 females and 20 males), 1st-year students in the field of sports and physical education. For conducting this study we used, as assessment tool, the Professional Motivation Questionnaire, adapted by Mihaela Roco, from R. Bazin and presented in 2001 (pages 214-215). After analysing all the data, we observed that there are differences between professional needs and motives for male and female master students, but also between the 5 groups of motives and needs. It has been found that for the five groups of motives, the order of priority given by the order of the points is of 107.24 for the esteem motives (Ms), of 110.65 determined by the human social contacts (Mc), of 125.47 for the self-accomplishment motives (Msa), of 131.06 determined by the esteem and consideration motives (Msc) and of 151.24 points for physiological motives (Mph). The results highlight the subjects’ responsibility involved in the professional training, but also the fact that every person within a group is an individual personality who has his / her own motivation.
