THE INFLUENCE OF PRACTICING LEISURE SPORTS ACTIVITIES ON PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SOCIAL HEALTH, AS ELEMENTS INTEGRATED IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE

Abstract

The main component part of evaluation of the quality of life is the health condition, which is conditioned by the level of physical, mental and social health, the latter three influencing each other. Due to this fact, the improvement of health represents a permanent source of concern and a focal points within the European politics. Thus, actions are being directed multidirectionally towards the domains: health, work safety, education. On the basis of this reality, insufficiently investigated at a national scale, and, unconvincing in places, our study aims at highlighting the existant interrelations between the scores obtained by our subjects, through a research methodology based on the use of physical, psychological, social questionnaires, as well as through a determinative methodology of the quality of life index. The conclusions resulted from the data processing, prove that physical health improved through practicing different physical exercises, represents a significant factor, that influences the mental, social health and establishes, within a certain period of time, the value of the quality of life index of each individual, based on the quantity and the quality of specific performed physical activities.
