Abstract

The alert rhythm of development of society marks more and more the children's growing and development rhythm. The easy access to the Internet and the diversification of the television programs cause changes in both the behavior and the thinking process of children.  From a motor point of view, children's development is completed by their diet, which is more or less adequate for their age, and, of course, by their involvement in an athletic training process. We are seeing today an "explosion" in the 2nd category children results. Considering these aspects, this study aimed to emphasize the performance level of 2nd category children, performances recorded during track and field competitions in the local area. The research started from the hypothesis stating that: the emphasis of the progress of the 2nd category children results during track and field competitions could be helpful in preparing the training for future competitions. This study used the documentation method, and the statistical-mathematical method for analyzing the data.
