The research was conducted using a cross-sectional design, and the Occupational Self-Assessment (OSA) tool was used to evaluate students' perceived level of competence
in occupational skills, performance, volition, and habituation, as well as the value placed on each occupation. The study found that university students promote a cult of self-care and are more aware about daily routine, finances, quality of tasks, and social expression. The OSA tool can facilitate student-centred learning by guiding students to identify their strengths and weaknesses and find the best learning strategies for themselves.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+02:00Copyright (c) 2024 GYMNASIUMhttps://gymnasium.ub.ro/index.php/journal/article/view/685Investigation of the Relationship Between Mobile Phone Addiction and Physical Activity Level in Adolescents2024-01-27T21:34:37+02:00Selçuk Tosun Alimesefalok@selcuk.edu.trLök Neslihansefalok@selcuk.edu.trLök Sefasefalok@selcuk.edu.tr
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between mobile phone addiction and physical activity. The research participants were 18 athletes, who represented several weight classes and were members of the Cadet Wrestling Section within the School Sports Club No. 5 in Bucharest. The experiment was conducted between 2021-2022, including both the preparatory period and the competitive period. The two participating groups (experiment and control) were applied an initial, intermediate and final test to check their strength levels. The average rate of progress recorded higher values for the experimental group compared to the control group in all six tests applied. The obtained results confirm the research hypothesis and show that the increase in strength found in the experimental group is the effect of applying the independent variable, more precisely, of using the set of specific exercises developed by us.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+02:00Copyright (c) 2023 GYMNASIUMhttps://gymnasium.ub.ro/index.php/journal/article/view/687Case Study on the Efficiency of Physical Therapy in Hip Arthroplasty Treatment2024-01-27T21:47:48+02:00Stoica Cristina-Elenacristina.popa@ub.ro
This work represents a case study conducted on a subject with a total hip prosthesis. The physical therapy intervention was structured into four stages of treatment: Stage I aimed at improving joint mobility and preventing dysfunctional positions in the affected limb. In
Stage II, the focus was on improving overall muscular strength through inducing voluntary motor activity in the affected muscles and maintaining kinaesthetic imagery. Stage III involved enhancing stability in various positions, such as sitting and standing. Stage IV
focused on improving controlled mobility, with the goal of enabling the patient to perform movements during any posture, with weight-bearing on fixed distal segments. The means used in the recovery process included therapeutic massage, kinetic techniques,
neuromuscular proprioceptive facilitation techniques, and therapeutic physical exercises. These interventions contributed to creating new movement patterns and improving functional parameters.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+02:00Copyright (c) 2023 GYMNASIUMhttps://gymnasium.ub.ro/index.php/journal/article/view/688The Effect of Physical Activity Level on Positive Mental Health of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Patients2024-01-27T21:51:18+02:00Cengiz Eminesefalok@selcuk.edu.trLök Neslihansefalok@selcuk.edu.trLök Sefasefalok@selcuk.edu.tr
This study was planned to examine the relationship between physical activity level and positive mental health in chronic obstructive pulmonary patients. The mean age of the participants was 67.93±11.14, 72.4%
male, 27.6% female, 79% secondary school graduate, 77.1% married, 38.1% It was determined that 44.8% of them did not work in any job and their income was between 2501-3500 TL. The mean physical activity score of the participants was 227±108.18, and the mean score of the positive mental health scale was 68.12±12.57. A high positive correlation was observed between physical activity level and positive mental health. When the results of the study were evaluated, married and poor financial situation were in the risk group. In addition, it has been observed that individuals have a more positive mental health as the level of physical activity increases.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+02:00Copyright (c) 2023 GYMNASIUMhttps://gymnasium.ub.ro/index.php/journal/article/view/689The Assessing of Some Motor Skills Dimensions of High School Adolescents, an Advantage in Promoting Extracurricular Activities2024-01-27T21:56:58+02:00Popescu Cătălincatalin32popescu@yahoo.roMihăilescu Lilianacatalin32popescu@yahoo.ro
The aim of our study was to highlight the level of some motor ability dimensions using four standardized instruments. The study involved 102 male students from "Constantin Brâncoveanu" High School in Horezu, Vâlcea County, grades IX-XII. Centralization of the
results, their processing, analysis and interpretation, according to each assessment instrument, show unsatisfactory results in terms of the body's ability to adapt to effort, a reduced capacity for recovery after effort, in conditions of normal weight and good thoracic
development. The results of our evaluation allow us to consider that it is necessary, on the one hand, to restructure the contents, optimize the direction of physical effort, rethink the way lessons are organised in the teachers' teaching strategies and, on the other hand, to initiate and improve extracurricular motor activities in order to increase the level of motor capacity of pupils in this category of adolescents.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+02:00Copyright (c) 2023 GYMNASIUMhttps://gymnasium.ub.ro/index.php/journal/article/view/690Impact of Explosive Strength on Shot Speed in Handball2024-01-27T22:03:32+02:00Ilić Igorkokir87np@gmail.comDurlević Slavkakokir87np@gmail.comBubanj Sašakokir87np@gmail.comBjelica Bojankokir87np@gmail.comAksović Nikolakokir87np@gmail.comDobrescu Tatianatatiana.dobrescu@ub.ro
Shooting is among the most important elements of the handball game that determine the success of the result. The aim of this research was to examine the impact of explosive strength on the shot speed of handball players. The sample of participants consisted of 20 handball players, aged 18 to 30 ± 0.3 years. The sample of measuring instruments consisted of five variables for evaluating explosive strength and four variables for evaluating shot speed in handball. The impact of explosive strength on shot speed in handball was determined using linear regression analysis. The results showed that the space of explosive strength is dominantly defined by the vertical jump test (VJ), while the latent space of shot speed is defined by the variable of jump shot with direct arm swing (SSD). Applying linear regression confirms that there is a statistically significant impact of explosive strength on shot speed in handball.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+02:00Copyright (c) 2023 GYMNASIUMhttps://gymnasium.ub.ro/index.php/journal/article/view/691Study Regarding the Reaction Time Levels in Physical Education and Sports2024-01-29T10:00:51+02:00Gorgan Carmina-Mihaelacarminagorgan@yahoo.comGraur Cristiancarminagorgan@yahoo.comMilon Alexandra Gabrielacarminagorgan@yahoo.comPuni Rareșcarminagorgan@yahoo.com
The subjects of this study are the Physical Education and Sports students of the UMFST George Emil Palade university of Targu Mures. The tests used to measure reaction time were the Visual reaction test, the Visual reaction right leg and the Visual reaction left leg. All three tests measured the reaction time in the legs, using a visual stimulus. The first test measured the reaction time in both legs by making the subjects jump vertically five times without knowing exactly when the visual stimulus would be activated; the second test
aimed to identify the reaction time of the right leg by making the subjects introduce their right leg in the monitoring area and raising it when the visual stimulus was activated; the third test is identical to the second, with the exception that it tested the reaction time in the
left leg.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+02:00Copyright (c) 2023 GYMNASIUMhttps://gymnasium.ub.ro/index.php/journal/article/view/692Effects of High Intensity Training on Body Composition in Recreationally Active Women2024-01-29T10:07:49+02:00Zećirović Arminarmin.zecirovic@gmail.comKoničanin Admiraarmin.zecirovic@gmail.comŠpirtović Omerarmin.zecirovic@gmail.comČaprić Ilmaarmin.zecirovic@gmail.comMujanović Dinoarmin.zecirovic@gmail.comMojsilović Zoranarmin.zecirovic@gmail.comCvejić Jovanarmin.zecirovic@gmail.comDobrescu Tatianatatiana.dobrescu@ub.ro
The aim of the study was to determine the effects of high intensity training on body composition in recreationally active women.
