Abstract

The paper is based on rethinking the use of materials and equipment support for increasing the quality and efficiency of speed swimmers. If we were to use in the training of the juniors the apparatus suggested by us, then the speed markers would increase substantially. The purpose of this work is to conduct a study on the effectiveness of training means for speed swimmers. To this end, we shall depart from the theoretical and physiological bases of speed-related motor qualities, presenting the main factors involved in effort and we want to motivate rethinking the involvement of materials and aiding devices in terms of quality and efficiency in training speed swimmers. We started from the hypothesis that the speed in short swimming events will improve considerably if we identify, within traditional methods and means, the underlying principles of the mechanism of speed and apply them to new work conditions. The exercise is very efficient and recommended for developing speed in the water. In order to fulfill this "function", it must be performed at maximum intensity, with proper breaks.
